Kylmäaineet
Perinteisistä kylmäaineista nykyisiin matalan GWP:n ratkaisuihin, mukaan lukien vaihtoehtoiset ja korvaavat kylmäaineet kuten R456A ja R444A.
Nunchi Training Academy provides specialized theoretical and practical technical training in refrigerants used in automotive air conditioning and heat pump systems.
The training covers the development of automotive refrigerants from traditional refrigerants to today’s low-GWP solutions, together with the introduction of alternative and replacement refrigerants such as R456A and R444A.
Our objective is to give technicians and automotive professionals a clear understanding of refrigerant properties, system compatibility, environmental impact, safety, service procedures, and the practical considerations involved when working with different refrigerants.
Training can be delivered onsite at your location or online and can be provided as theoretical training, practical hands-on training, or a combination of both.
- Three Flexible Training Options
- 1–2 Hours – Refrigerant Introduction / Technical Update
A focused session covering selected automotive refrigerant topics.
Ideal for introductions to new and alternative refrigerants, technical updates, environmental requirements, refrigerant properties, safety classifications, or comparisons between different refrigerants.
The training can be delivered online or onsite and is primarily theoretical, with practical demonstrations included where appropriate.
3–4 Hours – In-Depth Refrigerant Training
A more comprehensive session providing a deeper understanding of refrigerants used in automotive A/C and heat pump systems.
Training can include refrigerant characteristics, pressure/temperature relationships, GWP, ODP, safety classifications, system compatibility, oils, charging procedures, service equipment, diagnostics, and replacement refrigerants.
When delivered onsite, theoretical training can be combined with practical refrigerant handling, identification, recovery, evacuation, charging, and system demonstrations.
Full-Day – Complete Theoretical & Practical Refrigerant Training
Our most comprehensive refrigerant training program combines detailed theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on experience.
Participants can work with refrigerants, service equipment, refrigerant identifiers, recovery and charging equipment, pressure and temperature measurements, and different service procedures.
The full-day program can also provide a deeper understanding of alternative and replacement refrigerants and the technical considerations that must be evaluated before changing the refrigerant used in an automotive A/C system.
Refrigerants Covered
Depending on the selected program and customer requirements, training can include:
- R12 – Historical automotive refrigerant
- R134a – Conventional automotive A/C refrigerant
- R1234yf – Low-GWP refrigerant used in modern vehicles
- R744 (CO₂) – High-pressure refrigerant used in advanced automotive heat pump systems
- R456A – Alternative/replacement refrigerant for certain R134a applications
- R444A – Alternative/replacement refrigerant considered for certain R1234yf applications
- Other current and emerging alternative refrigerants
- Comparison of refrigerant technologies and properties
- Replacement & Alternative Refrigerants
A special focus can be placed on the increasing interest in replacement and alternative refrigerants for existing automotive A/C systems.
Training can examine refrigerants such as R456A as an alternative for certain R134a applications and R444A as an alternative for certain R1234yf applications, including the technical and practical considerations involved.
Topics can include:
- Refrigerant composition and properties
- Pressure and temperature characteristics
- Cooling performance
- Refrigerant charge considerations
- Compressor and component compatibility
- Refrigerant oil compatibility
- Seal and hose compatibility
- Service equipment requirements
- Refrigerant identification
- Recovery and charging procedures
- System flushing and contamination control
- Refrigerant mixing and cross-contamination risks
- Safety classifications and flammability
- GWP and environmental impact
- Retrofit procedures and best practices
- Vehicle manufacturer requirements
- Regional regulations and legal considerations
Any refrigerant replacement or retrofit must be evaluated according to applicable legislation, vehicle/system approval, refrigerant compatibility, safety requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
Environmental Impact & Sustainability
Refrigerant selection is becoming increasingly important as the automotive industry works to reduce its environmental impact.
Our training can provide an understanding of important environmental topics including:
- ODP – Ozone Depletion Potential
- GWP – Global Warming Potential
- Direct and indirect emissions
- Refrigerant leakage
- Recovery and recycling
- Refrigerant lifecycle considerations
- PFAS and TFA considerations
- Environmental legislation and future refrigerant developments
- Sustainable service and repair practices
- Practical Refrigerant Service
Onsite training can combine theoretical knowledge with practical refrigerant handling and service procedures.
Depending on the training program and available equipment, practical exercises can include refrigerant identification, recovery, evacuation, leak testing, charging, pressure and temperature measurements, refrigerant quantity verification, service machine operation, and contamination prevention.
The objective is to help participants understand not only which refrigerant is being used, but why it is used, how it behaves inside the system, and how it should be handled correctly and safely.
Onsite or Online – Theory and Practice
Every training program can be customized according to the participants’ experience, refrigerants used in the local market, vehicle applications, regulatory environment, and specific requirements of the organization.
Whether you require a 1–2 hour refrigerant update, a 3–4 hour in-depth technical session, or a complete full-day theoretical and practical refrigerant training program, Nunchi Training Academy can tailor the content to your needs.
