Nunchi Training Academy provides specialized theoretical and practical technical training in the operation and application of A/C service machines for automotive air conditioning and heat pump systems.

The training focuses on understanding the complete service process — from refrigerant recovery, recycling, vacuum and charging to oil management, diagnostics, contamination control and system flushing.

A special focus is placed on advanced system flushing using an A/C service machine, with the objective of flushing the system without removing individual A/C components, where the system design, equipment, vehicle manufacturer procedures, and applicable safety requirements permit this method.

Training can be delivered onsite at your location or online and can be provided as theoretical training, practical hands-on training, or a combination of both.

  • Three Flexible Training Options
  • 1–2 Hours – A/C Machine Introduction / Technical Update

A focused session covering the fundamental operation and functions of modern automotive A/C service machines.

Ideal for technicians and organizations requiring an introduction or technical update covering:

  • Recovery and recycling
  • Vacuum and evacuation
  • Refrigerant charging
  • Oil management
  • Automatic service cycles
  • Refrigerant identification
  • Basic machine maintenance
  • Introduction to system flushing

The training can be delivered online or onsite, with practical machine demonstrations where appropriate.

3–4 Hours – In-Depth A/C Machine & Flushing Training

A more comprehensive session providing a deeper understanding of A/C service machine operation, correct service procedures, machine configuration, refrigerant management, contamination prevention, and advanced system flushing.

A key focus can be placed on flushing the A/C or heat pump system without removing individual components, reducing unnecessary disassembly and helping technicians perform a controlled and efficient cleaning process.

When delivered onsite, theoretical instruction can be combined with live machine demonstrations and practical hands-on exercises.

Full-Day – Complete Theoretical & Practical A/C Machine Training

Our most comprehensive program combines detailed theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on operation of A/C service machines.

Participants can perform complete service procedures and learn how to use the different functions of the machine correctly and efficiently.

The full-day program can place a particular emphasis on advanced flushing procedures, including preparation, system configuration, refrigerant flow, contamination inspection, flushing cycles, oil management, evacuation, and recommissioning of the system.

A/C Service Machine Functions

Depending on the selected training program and equipment, training can include:

  • Refrigerant recovery
  • Refrigerant recycling
  • Refrigerant identification
  • Vacuum and evacuation
  • Vacuum leak testing
  • Refrigerant charging
  • Oil recovery
  • Oil injection
  • UV dye injection
  • Automatic service programs
  • Hose and machine management
  • Refrigerant quantity verification
  • Contamination prevention
  • Service data and vehicle databases
  • Machine calibration and maintenance
  • Refrigerant tank management
  • Working with different refrigerants
  • System flushing
  • Special Focus – Flushing Without Removing Components

System contamination following compressor failure, incorrect oil, excessive oil, moisture, particles, or previous incorrect service procedures can create serious problems within an automotive A/C or heat pump system.

Traditional flushing procedures can require significant system disassembly and the removal or bypassing of multiple components.

Our training focuses on advanced flushing techniques designed to circulate refrigerant through the system and remove contamination while minimizing component removal, where technically appropriate.

Training can include:

  • Understanding why and when an A/C system requires flushing
  • Identifying different types of contamination
  • Refrigerant flushing versus conventional flushing fluids
  • Preparing the vehicle and service machine for flushing
  • Establishing the correct flushing flow direction
  • Forward and reverse flushing
  • Flushing individual sections or complete circuits
  • Using a sight glass to visually monitor contamination
  • Monitoring oil, particles and impurities removed from the system
  • Performing repeated flushing cycles until the required cleanliness is achieved
  • Managing electronic expansion valves and shut-off valves
  • Using diagnostic equipment to command valves when required
  • Managing complex heat pump circuits with multiple flow paths
  • Removing residual oil and contamination
  • Deep evacuation after flushing
  • Restoring the correct oil quantity
  • Recharging the correct refrigerant quantity
  • Final system performance testing
  • Why Flush Without Removing Components?

Where supported by the system design and correct equipment, minimizing component removal during flushing can provide important advantages:

  • Reduced workshop time
  • Less system disassembly
  • Reduced risk of damaging pipes, hoses, connectors and seals
  • Reduced replacement of unnecessary components
  • More efficient removal of contaminated oil
  • Ability to clean complex refrigerant circuits
  • Reduced workshop waste
  • Potentially lower repair costs
  • Improved workshop productivity
  • More sustainable service and repair practices

The objective is not simply to flush the system, but to understand how contamination moves through the refrigerant circuit and how the complete system can be cleaned effectively and safely.

Heat Pump Systems & Electronic Valves

Modern hybrid and electric vehicle heat pump systems introduce additional challenges because they can contain multiple heat exchangers, electronic expansion valves, shut-off valves and different refrigerant flow paths.

Training can therefore include how diagnostic equipment and vehicle-specific procedures may be required to open or position electronically controlled valves during the flushing process, allowing the required sections of the system to be accessed.

This makes an understanding of both the A/C service machine and the vehicle’s thermal management system increasingly important.

Sustainability Through Better Service

Advanced flushing can also contribute to a more sustainable approach to automotive A/C and heat pump repair.

Where appropriate, successfully cleaning and restoring a contaminated system can help reduce unnecessary component replacement, material consumption and workshop waste, while supporting longer component and vehicle service life.

This reflects Nunchi Training Academy’s focus on combining technical quality, practical efficiency and sustainability.

Onsite or Online – Theory and Practice

Every training program can be customized according to the participants’ experience, A/C service machines, refrigerants, vehicle applications, and specific workshop requirements.

Onsite training provides the opportunity to combine theory with practical machine operation, complete service cycles, system flushing, contamination inspection and hands-on exercises.

Online training provides a flexible solution for theoretical machine training, technical updates, flushing procedures, troubleshooting, and understanding advanced service functions.

Whether you require a 1–2 hour introduction, a 3–4 hour in-depth A/C machine and flushing session, or a complete full-day theoretical and practical training program, Nunchi Training Academy can tailor the content to your requirements.
